Soak and cook the beans - reserve the liquid and set aside. Melt the brown sugar separately and mix in the mustard, BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, salt and pepper with some of the reserved liquid. Mix the beans, sausage and the spice mix in a large bowl along with more of the reserve liquid to obtain a thick consistency but not soupy. Pour into a baking dish and check the consistency (you want the mixture to be thick but not so to dry out during baking). Place the bacon in short slices to cover. Bake at 350F in a preheated oven for about 45 minutes. Remove and serve with your meal and Enjoy!
